About Us

Tom Monahan and Greg Turcotte, both North America rug washers operating independent companies, met in 2006. The following year, they joined forces to form Centrum Force® and collaborated on a design and built the world's first Dual Port rug wringing centrifuge of its size. The long cylinder has an 18" diameter to accommodate most rugs found in the North America marketplace. Centri-Maxx® was successfully brought to market in March 2007, and Linda Plunket, CRS of AWPOV in Brookville, Florida, took delivery.

In May, Centrum Force® introduced The Wolverine -- a mechanical push-pull rug duster patterned on its predecessor (which dated from the 1950s and was no longer produced). The original used rotating straps to beat the rug. Centrum Force® used this concept, and added ergonomic enhancements for the operator. Among revolutionary changes was the installation of 24" rollers rather than wheels to protect the fringes when rolling over a rug.

Since then Centrum Force® has become a full-system rug washing supplier with an assortment of rug washing equipment that includes optional sizes in dusters, wash tubs, centrifuge wringers, and drying systems. The synergy of the equipment is enhanced with a line of environmentally friendly cleaning products.

On December 13, 2011, United States Patent 8,074,370 was awarded to inventors Thomas Monahan of Ann Arbor, Michigan U.S.A. & Greg Turcotte of Black Diamond, Canada. The world's first dual port rug wringing centrifuge. It is a horizontal centrifugal device for moisture removal from a rug.

At the beginning of 2012 Centrum Force Fabrication opened its doors to continue to fabricate and build our #1 rug washing equipment in Michigan.

August 21, 2012 Centrum Force® bought the 63 year old company MOR Time Saving Equipment. A company known internationally for producing the standard in automated rug washing equipment.

Periodically, Centrum Force® sponsors a rug summit. Rug washers and restorers meet to network and share relevant ideas pertaining to their craft.
